Robert Romano, DC

Dr. Romano is a board certified Doctor of Chiropractic with full Physical Therapy Privileges. He is trained in Full Spine Diversified, Thompson Technique, Activator Methods, and the Cox Flexion-Distraction protocol for non-surgical spinal disc decompression. In addition to clinical expertise and experience Dr. Rob loves to work with children and families to provide a natural alternative to modern healthcare.
Dr. Romano is a member of the International Chiropractors Association, the American Chiropractic Association, and the Maryland Chiropractic Association.
Prior to attending chiropractic school, Dr. Romano attended the State University of New York at Albanywhere he receieved a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and worked at numerous facilities including the Albany County Nursing Home, Port Jefferson Ferry Senior Living, and the NY State Capital District Psychiatric Center. Psychology wasn't satisfying to Dr. Romano so he began working at a chiropractic office shortly after finishing his degree.
Dr. Robert worked for 2 and 1/2 years at North Shore Chiropractic in Port Jefferson Station, NY. While there he worked full time as a Chiropractic Assistant to Dr. Gary DiBenedetto and Dr. Michael Maiorino. Dr. Dibenedetto is a recognized leader in chiropractic who is well-known in the profession for his dedication to the philosophy, science, and art of chiropractic. It was during this time at North Shore Chiropractic that Rob decided to dedicate his work life to becoming a chiropractor and helping other people improve their health. His next stop was chiropractic school!
Dr. Robert attended Life University in Atlanta, where he graduated with honors. During his time at Life University, Dr. Robert had a special interest in family wellness care, functional chiropractic neurology, and treating acute back pain, neck pain, and headaches. He regularly attended different extra-curricular clubs and seminars to expand his education. Dr. Robert uses Diversified/Full Spine adjusting, Thompson Technique drop-table adjusting, and instrument-assisted adjusting. Additionally, Dr. Romano utilizes the Cox Flexion-Distraction technique for low back disc injuries and other spinal problems.
Also while in Atlanta, Rob married his beautiful wife, Nicole.
While in school at Life University in Atlanta Dr. Romano spent 6 months as a PEAK Program Internat Leading Edge Sport & Spine working under the guidance of Dr. James E. Schantz of Roswell, Georgia. Dr. Schantz is one of the top chiropractors in the United States according to Prevention Magazine, and is also a GCA Humanitarian of the Year, and is certified by Harvard in the treatment of low back pain. This 6 month experience laid a solid clinical foundation for Dr. Rob and gave him real-world experience with a variety of people and conditions. This was a solid foundation for success as he finished his education in Atlanta, Georgia.
Just before leaving Atlanta Dr. Rob and his wife Nicole had a very happy surprise! A baby was coming!
After finishing chiropractic school Dr. Robert headed back to New York to work as an Associate Doctor of Chiropractic for Dr. Gary DiBenedetto at North Shore Chiropractic. While there he further sharpened his clinical skills and prepared himself for the big move to Frederick to settle down with his family. While there he also had one of the most amazing moments of his life - the birth of his son, Logan!
Since opening the office, Dr. Rob has had the opportunity to do a lot of great things, such as:
- Guest lecture on spinal biomechanics Frederick Community College.
- Provide free healthcare services for those less fortunate at the Frederick Convoy of Hope.
- Speak at the National Cancer Institute at Fort Detrick, regarding chiropractic.
- Provide thouands of dollar of free chiropractic care for returning military personnel.
Matthew Schooley, DC

My name is Dr. Matt and I grew up in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina in a sleepy mountain town outside of Asheville named Marion. Growing up there, surrounded by the natural beauty of the North Carolina Mountains, I forged a love for the outdoors that I hold to this day. Small town life taught me that hard work always pays off and that family, friend and community bonds are something that you treasure above all else. After graduating from McDowell High I travelled further into the mountains and headed up to Boone, NC to attend Appalachian State University. Though I hadn’t yet landed on a specific profession, I knew that I wanted to find something that would allow me to help others, so I started the track of Pre-Professional Biology. During my junior year at App State, I met a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) and was blown away by the concept of being able to remove subluxations to assist the human body’s natural ability to miraculously heal itself.
Over the course of four years I worked diligently and earned that B.S. in Pre-Professional Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. During my time at App State I worked at the only two-story Wendy’s on the East Coast, where I met my wife Rachel who was covered in grease, humming to herself and smiling the whole time. Together Rachel and I moved down to Atlanta from Boone, so that I could pursue my dream of becoming a D.C. at Life University. It was a big change for us to move from Boone, with a population of around 14,000 and only 3 roads going in and out to a city the size Atlanta, but we adjusted and made a home in the big city. I finished up my time at Life University and graduated ready to adjust the world and initiate some healing.
After graduation I worked at Foothills Chiropractic as an independent contractor in small town just outside of Atlanta called Hiram, Georgia. While I was there I adjusted a wide variety of people ranging from 1 year old children to 90 year old great grandparents and saw how chiropractic care can benefit everyone. I worked with several doctors that together have 100 years experience in the chiropractic profession. This helped me develop and mature my skill of adjusting far beyond what I learned in school. I witnessed amazing things by adjusting people’s spines. These adjustments allowed my patients nervous systems to function to the best of their ability, which in turn allowed their bodies to heal themselves.
Rachel and I have three furry friends that we refer to as our children.
We have a 6 year old spoiled rabbit named Kendall, a 5 year old talkative cat named Bella and my best friend and frisbee buddy 4 year old Obie the Sheltie-huahua (that’s a Sheltie/Chihuahua mix). In my spare time you can find me enjoying basketball, golf, tennis, frisbee (with Obie of course), spending time with my family, gardening, cooking and swimming. I love being outdoors, especially hiking, and hope to someday have the opportunity to hike the Appalachian Trail in its entirety. Enough about me though, you just let me know what I can do to help you, because that’s my greatest pursuit of all.
