Q:What is your favorite sport?

A: Soccer and football. Are there any other sports?

Q:What would you do if money were not an issue?

A: I would research local sports history as if it were a full-time job, and travel the country to watch sports events.

Q:What makes you feel young?

A: Staying connected to the high school sports scene.

Q:What is your favorite Frederick tradition, past or present?

A: I miss the White Star hot dogs and Snow White burgers -- a pair of "old" Frederick staples.

Q: Is there something about you that people might be surprised to learn?

A: Despite my strong sports connections, I spent eight years as a college professor of journalism. That, or the fact I competed in the US Olympic Festival trials for Team Handball.

Q:What is your pet peeve?

A: People with no motivation.

Q:What are your hobbies?

A: Compiling the complete history of Maryland high school football.

Q:Which teacher inspired you most and why?

A: Pete Rothenhoefer, a history teacher at Frederick High School. His teaching and classwork improved my writing and research ability, and pushed me to dig deeper into history.

Q:What is your favorite childhood memory?

A:Attending an Orioles game with an eight-grade group of friends, where we raised all the money on our own.

Q:What is the best compliment you have ever received?

A:Although we might disagree, at least you were fair.
